Mold Inspections
HEALTH CONCERNS WHEN EXPOSED TO MOLD TOXINS ARE ACUTE AND LONG LASTING. OUR INSPECTORS ARE CERTIFIED MOLD INSPECTORS.
You've probably heard the saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." That saying is certainly true when dealing with mold treatment and remediation. Mold can be very difficult to eradicate once it has colonized materials and established itself inside a home.
An inspection for mold may uncover several different types of mold. Only lab analysis can determine the type of mold present. Each one needs to be removed in a specific way. The most common types of mold include:
• Cladosporium
• Aspergillus
• Penicillium
• Ulocladium
• Acremonium
• Stachybotrys
• Alternaria
Standalone residential, in-depth mold inspections including the use of thermal imaging will cost $250 up to 3,000 sq/ft.
(+$50 for each additional 1,000 sq/ft.)
(+$60 per sample taken)
Standalone commercial, in-depth mold inspections cost $400 up to 10,000 sq/ft.
(+$60 per sample taken)
(Call us for estimates on areas larger than 10,000 sq/ft.)
A VISUAL MOLD INSPECTION IS INCLUDED WITH PROPERTY INSPECTION.
However, an in-depth mold inspection will involve the use of specialized equipment such as an infrared camera and small probe cameras to see areas not easily accessible, and thus will add an additional cost.
If added to a property inspection, an in-depth mold inspection will cost an additional $125.
The cost of a standalone, in-depth mold inspection is $250.
If mold is found, an additional cost of $60 per sample will be added.
- Surface sampling will require samples in each area of mold growth.
- Air sampling will require two samples, one inside and one outside.
What are the underlying reasons for mold growth?
• Leaking pipes
• Cracked foundations
• Unsealed or non-waterproof basement
• A leaking roof
• Unsealed window wells
• Moisture entering your home
• Contaminated Heating and Air Conditioning systems contributing to airborne spores inside the property
In many cases, the most costly error is removing the mold without repairing the underlying issues.
